Since setting up my own Hypnotherapy practice in 1987, I remain fascinated by the power of the mind to create our own lives and destinies. It is literally as if the way we think creates the lives we lead in positive or negative ways. Like many old adjuncts, the phrase "its all in the mind", carries a definate ring of truth, and the good news is that we can change our lives for the better by changing the way we think.

Treating hundreds of cases over the years enabled me to see how effective hypnotherapy can be in resolving many varied conditions of the mind and body, by using mind - power in a harmonious and positive way.

RELAX

We all possess a natural ability to relax. Put simply, when we relax our energy begins to flow, naturally inducing a state of mental relaxation and awareness to positive suggestion. Endorphins, (Nature's painkillers and feel good chemicals), are released enabling us to feel good as we created the change we want.

BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT

Understanding the mind further led me to the natural step of becoming an NLP practitioner, and I am trained and licenced by Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler, (co-founder of NLP).

HOW CAN NLP HELP ME?

Everyone has their own individual way of processing information or experiences via the 5 senses - taste,touch,smell,sound,and vision - through the nervous system; the body has its own intelligence. This lays down a pattern/programme with the associated responses/ reactions.

When we feel stuck in a negative or limiting belief we can feel unhappy - trapped, powerless or even depressed. During therapy we identify the structure, (learned behaviour), causing these feelings and re-structure by replacing it with an expansive positive belief/attitude that supports us while we achieve our goals or desired state. Re-structuring/reprogramming is done in the way that has greatest resonance for each of us, in a natural or organic way. Neurons are released from the brain creating a lovely internal glow, and we FEEL GOOD !

THE UNCONSCIOUS FRIEND OR FOE?

It is worth mentioning the unconscious mind here as it can be our greatest ally along the healing path. Its main concern is survival, therefore it can keep us in an old/outdated pattern or attitude simply because it feels confortable and familiar,(safe and alive).

The unconscious mind has no judgement, (being rather simplistic or childlike in its function), so we can elicit its co-operation to find and implement new and liberating ways to achieve success.

It can be our greatest friend in keeping us healthy and safe , and interestingly , it seems to really enjoy finding more positive ways to make the best of life's opportunities!

    The initial consultation is used to tailor an elegant and effective course of treatment based on individual needs in a relaxed and reassuring atmosphere.

    Most conditions require and average of 3-5 sessions although its not unusual for 1 session to produce the desired result !
